Lots to trade for a 1% account risk on USD-quoted pairs ($10/pip standard lot). Forex pairs only — gold multiplies everything by ten. The Position Size Calculator handles any pair, any stop, any risk.

How to read it: find your account column, follow to your stop size — that is the exact lot count so a full stop-out costs 1% of the account. Round down, never up. JPY/CHF/CAD pairs differ slightly: check the Pip Value Table.
Example: $2,000 account, 30-pip stop → 0.66 → trade 0.65 lots. If your platform only offers 0.01 steps on micro accounts, use the micro-lot column logic: $20 risk ÷ (30 × $0.10) = 6.6 → 6 micro lots.

Frequently asked questions — Position Size Cheat Sheet

Why 1%?

It makes losing streaks survivable: ten straight losses at 1% leaves ~90.4% of the account — painful but fully recoverable. At 5% the same streak leaves 60% and the hole compounds against you. Full logic in The 1% Rule. Time your size-downs with the forex economic calendar so reduced exposure lands before high-impact releases, not after them.

Can I risk more once I am profitable?

The math does not care about confidence — and the first oversized trade after a hot streak is the classic account-killer. Scale with account size (the table already does), not with mood.
