How to size a trade on any pair

Pick the instrument, enter your account balance and the percentage you are willing to risk, then type your stop-loss distance in pips. The calculator converts your risk into a dollar amount, divides it by the pair's per-pip value, and returns the exact position size in lots — standard, mini and micro — so the number works on any MT4/MT5 ticket. Use the leverage field only as a sanity check: leverage changes the margin required, never the risk you have chosen.

Worked example: $1,000 account, 1% risk ($10), a 25-pip stop on EURUSD. One standard lot on EURUSD moves $10 per pip, so 25 pips of room would need $250 of risk at full size — far too much. The calculator sizes it down to 0.04 lots, which risks $10 if the stop is hit. Tighten the stop to 10 pips and the same $10 risk allows 0.10 lots. That relationship — tighter stop, larger size, same risk — is the whole idea of position sizing.
